Father Cass Daly - A Loving Farewell
Vestry Meeting, June 8, 2017
Below are some photos taken on the last Vestry meeting that Fr. Cass attended, and the delightful dinner afterwards.
Retirement, June 11, 2017
For health reasons, our beloved Father Cass Daly has retired as Rector of this wonderful church effective June 11, 2017.
Not surprisingly, emotions were running high during this period, and many tributes were paid to Fr. Cass and Audrey. One such was a note to
all the congregation from John Marinello which read as follows:
Dear Church Family,
Sunday’s Farewell Celebration for Fr. Cass and Audrey was a beautiful testament of Christian love and witness.
It was only made possible through the outpouring of love from each of you in serving/helping.
It cannot be measured in gold and silver…it is priceless!
Thank you so very much for being a part of this wonderful celebration.
Blessings to all of you.
With a prayer for Grace and Peace, our own Dr. Brent Swanson recorded the final sermon given by Fr. Cass in this church on June 11th, and placed it on the internet. Below is the link to that sermon. We hope you cherish it and are blessed by it as much as we were.
Sermon of June 11, 2017
As a token of the great esteem in which we hold Fr. Cass, the following song was written by Jenny Bretana (Miss Jenny to the children), and sung by the children
(accompanied by adults in the congregation). Absolutely charming.
Fr Cass We Are Going to Miss You
(to the tune of “Were You There”)
Fr. Cass we are going to miss you,
And we're going to miss Audrey too!
Oh, sometimes it makes us shed a tear or two
Fr Cass we are going to miss you.
Fr. Cass we will miss your Irish smile,
For a glimpse, we would gladly walk a mile.
Oh sometimes it makes us shed a tear or two.
Fr. Cass we are going to miss you.
May the Lord bless you both and keep you.
May the Lord shine His face upon you.
May He always be gracious and be loving too.
May the Lord grant His lasting peace to you.
we're gonna shed a tear or two.
Fr. Cass, we are going to miss you.
In addition to the song, the children made a stole for Fr. Cass, and he was presented with a Memory Book containing notes
& pictures from the entire congregation, as well as a final monetary presentation.
Many people took photos during the day, and we thank them for their
submissions. Below are some of the pictures taken throughout the day, presented
in a slide show format. The show starts with the worship service, followed by many candids of the party, and ends with the presentation by children
of the parish. We pray you will enjoy them and the memories of this wonderful time.
May God walk beside you, dear Fr. Cass and Audrey, now and always.
